ADOBE CAMERA RAW v 17.1

In the latest version of Adobe Camera Raw is a pretty magical tool for removing reflections from windows

After importing your photo, navigate to the Remove panel (represented by the eraser icon on the right side of the user interface). In the Distraction Removal section, select the checkbox labeled “Reflections.” The model will process the image in a few seconds and generate its best prediction of how the scene appears without reflections.
Once the process is complete, the slider beneath the checkbox will automatically be set to 100. Sliding it back to 0 will gradually bring the reflections back into view. If you continue moving it to -100, you’ll uncover the model’s prediction of the scene that was reflected in the window. Its amazing what it reveals.
For now, this technology works only on raw photos (DNGs, CR2s, ARWs, ProRAWs, etc.) To try it on your own images, open the Camera Raw plug-in and go to the Technology Previews section of the Preferences Panel. Then enable the New AI Settings and Features Panel and restart the host application (Adobe Photoshop or Adobe Bridge).
I’ve been playing around with the tool and although this tool is specifically designed to remove reflections from windows, it has worked on sun flares and adds a polarization effect to water.

What’s next?
According to Adobe they are planning to support JPEGs, HEICs, and other non-raw files. They’re also looking into removing small reflections like eyeglasses and distant windows. They would also like to extend the tool to the removal of dust, scratches, rain, snow, or other things that land on windows (bugs on windshields?) Finally, while this beta is available only through Camera Raw, they do plan to bring an expanded version to the entire Lightroom ecosystem.
