What’s New
Features and Enhancements
GENERATIVE REMOVE
LrC 13.3 Introduces “REMOVE WITH GENERATIVE FILL”, and the heal tool has been renamed as “REMOVE”.

The Generative Remove checkbox can be used to enable the feature.
‘Variations’ button can be used to cycle through three options generated, and ‘Refresh’ button can be used to generate a new set of variations.

‘Object aware’ checkbox can be used to select an object to removed, and ‘Mask refinement’ (which will be enabled once an object is selected) can be used to make more precise selections.

With LrC 13.3 there are two new shortcuts to enable Generative AI in the remove panel, listed below.
- Cmd / Ctrl + G to enable/disable Generative AI.
- Cmd / Ctrl + F to enable/disable Object Aware.
Other shortcuts for this feature
- A = old visualize Spots
- Q = Activate Panel
- / = refresh
** Note
I would not suggest using Generative Remove for Dustspots. It would be time consuming and unnecessary . Use this powerful new tool for Object /Subject removal or large more complex selections.
OTHER CHANGES
Sync
In LrC 13.3, Adobe is migrating the data related to Sync to the new Sync architecture at launch. This will improve the Sync download performance.
During this migration, they are checking for the correctness of the sync data, which might lead to a jump in the number of “Syncing” images.
This jump in number of “Syncing” images should come down with time. Once migration is complete, you should see the actual count of the “Syncing” images.
This initial migration time may vary, depending on the number of images synced and number of images for which sync is in-progress in the older catalog.
Library – Updates
With LrC 13.3 added support for following metadata fields in Any Searchable Field, Searchable Metadata, and Searchable IPTC text-based Filters and Smart Collections criteria.
- Alt text (Accessibility)
- Extended description (Accessibility)

Also added option of “Has Point Color” in Smart Collections and Metadata Filters.
Develop – Performance Improvements
- Enhanced responsiveness and improved navigation experience.
- Improved caching to deliver a smoother experience & crispier image when navigating through smaller sets of images, especially useful for workflows like image comparison, or image set involving VCs.
*You will see a significant impact on image navigation in Develop module.
Lens Blur – Updates
- Lens Blur AI models have been updated to address quality issues.
- Added support for batch operations (presets, copy/paste settings, sync/auto-sync settings) for Lens Blur.
- Updated the UI in Lens Blur to show Near/Far labels in focus range. Once the focus range is moved around, it would show values in numbers.
- New adaptive presets have been added for Lens Blur.
AI Denoise – Updates
With LrC 13.3 R2, Apple Neural Engine is enabled for AI Denoise on Mac with Apple Silicon with macOS 14.0 or later.
*Mac users will experience a significant performance improvement
Previews – Updates
With LrC 13.3 Adobe has rearchitected the way they are generating and storing Previews.
Exported Image Status
With LrC 13.3 R2, we have added support to know whether an image is exported or published.
This could be achieved using:

- Exported and Not-exported Attribute filter in Library – Grid and Filmstrip.
Catalog Upgrade
With LrC 13.3 Lightroom Classic would upgrade your 13.2 or older catalogs.
